Fast MPPT Tracking DC-DC Converter

We design low-power DC-DC converter for autonomous sensor node. MPPT is essential for DC-DC converters to deliver high power conversion efficiency. However, depending on the MPPT algorithm, it may require quite some time, which is undesirable in a fast-changing environment.

In this project, we aim to develop a fast MPPT algorithm and integrate it in an existing DC-DC converter design.

Project goals:

• A comprehensive literature review to propose the best topology.
• Propose and realize a fast MPPT algorithm and integrate it with an existing DC-DC converter design.
• After concept validation, there is the opportunity to tape-out in TSMC 180nm.
