dr. J Bott
Microwave Sensing, Signals and Systems (MS3), Department of Microelectronics
Expertise: Development of highly integrated mm-wave radar systems, ranging from circuit and MMIC design based on silicon-germanium to MIMO algorithms for precise direction finding and high-resolution imaging.
Biography
Jonathan Bott received his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from TU Dortmund in 2014, for which he was honored with the Elmos Award. In 2016, he completed his M.Sc. there with distinction. From 2016 to 2017, he worked as a software developer in the automotive industry. Since 2017, he has been with the Institute of Integrated Systems at Ruhr University Bochum, where he successfully completed his doctorate (Dr.-Ing., with distinction) in 2024 in the field of highly integrated millimeter-wave radar systems. In 2025, he was awarded second place in the EUREL PhD Best Paper Award. As a postdoctoral researcher, he is currently working on the development of highly integrated mm-wave radar systems, ranging from circuit and MMIC design based on silicon-germanium to MIMO algorithms for precise direction finding and high-resolution imaging.
