Biography
Niko Eka Putra earned his PhD in Biomaterials and Tissue Biomechanics from Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in 2023, where he developed extrusion-based 3D printed biodegradable porous iron bone implants. His PhD research was part of the Interreg2Seas 3DMed consortium. Later, he joined the DARTBAC consortium, developing sustainable biomaterials to combat antibiotic-resistant infections. He received the Acta Student Award in 2024. In August 2025, Niko joined TU Delft’s Electronics Components Technology and Materials (ECTM) group in the Department of Microelectronics, working on projects within the Netherlands Organ-on-Chip Initiative consortium. He holds an MSc in Biomedical Engineering from TU Delft (2018) and a BSc in Engineering Physics from the Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia (2015). His research focuses on 3D printing, tissue engineering, biodegradable materials, and sustainable biomaterials.
