Masoud Babaie Receives the 2025 IEEE SSCS New Frontier Award

At the 2025 International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC), Masoud Babaie was honored with the prestigious IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society (SSCS) New Frontier Award.
This award recognizes early-career SSCS members who demonstrate exceptional innovation and vision within the field of solid-state circuits. It acknowledges pioneering work that pushes the boundaries of integrated circuit (IC) design, with the imminent potential to expand the field through new categories of circuit technologies, system design, and/or emerging applications.
Dr. Babaie’s award highlights the groundbreaking contributions of his research group in advancing mixed-signal, RF, and millimeter-wave integrated circuits and systems, with particular focus on wireless communication and cryogenic electronic interfaces for quantum computing. His research is centered around developing critical components such as voltage-controlled oscillators, power amplifiers, frequency synthesizers, and transceivers—key technologies essential for the next generation of wireless communication and quantum computing. This recognition underscores his leadership in shaping the future of these transformative fields.
