Ever wanted to have a look at a burning galaxy with millions of stars forming, roughly (and probably) 13 billion lightyears ago? This is your chance! Akira Endo is currently running observations in the main hall of building 36 (faculty of EEMCS), using the DESHIMA 2.0 spectrometer on the ASTE telescope in Chile. PhD student Leon Olde Scholtenhuis made a new chip in clean rooms including the Else Kooi Lab, that he wants to bring to the telescope next month.

Advancements in neural implant durability published in Nature Communications
The paper on the project studying the degradation mechanisms of silicon ICs in the body and by coating them with soft PDMS elastomers to form body-fluid barriers that offer long-term protection to implantable chips, led by Dr. Vassiliki Giagka (BE group) is published in the prestigious journal Nature Communications.
