MEMS resonators and timing devices that utilize them are changing the frequency control and timing industry in profound ways. The new technologies allow a novel class of devices and performances that fuel new requirements, performance levels, and applications. This talk will briefly describe the timing market in terms of devices and applications, followed by examples of SiTime MEMS timing in precision frequency references, sub-100fs frequency generators, and low-power compact devices supporting space-constrained mobile applications.
