THz Imaging Phenomenology Platforms for Stand-off IED Detection funded by the European Defense Agency (TIPPSI)

The objectives of the Project are to produce an imagery phenomenology study for evaluation of the detection problem centred around the detection of concealed objects and map the route towards potential applications.
The objectives of the project are to produce an imagery phenomenology study for evaluation of the detection problem centred around the detection of concealed objects and map the route towards potential applications. The study will evaluate various available simulation and modelling tools, supported by the data provided by various imaging systems to validate these and perform real-time tests in realistic environments. Based on the modelling and evaluation results, the project will yield a technology roadmap that identifies the most promising system modalities for detection and identify the most urgent subsystem and component technology needs towards operational systems development.
