Postdoc/PhD vacancy: DC-DC converters for energy harvesting

Opening for: Postdoc

Status details

Status:Open
Announced:05 Apr 2022
Closing date:04 Jun 2022

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate to work on low-power high-dynamic-range DC-DC converters for energy harvesting purposes. Energy harvesting from solar panels is a well-established and practical way to power IoT devices. To facilitate the use of such IoT devices in an outdoor environment, where a large dynamic range is expected. To facilitate this, a novel and precise continuous-time MPPT algorithm is required. Such an algorithm should be low-power and should react to fast irradiation change as well. Meanwhile, proposing novel DC-DC converter topologies to improve power conversion efficiency and reduce the size of the passive components are important.

Requirements

  1. Very good analog circuit design knowledge and skill.
  2. Good understanding of basic DC-DC converter
  3. Highly motivated
  4. Good communication skills, good teamwork

To apply for the position, please send me your CV, and a 5-page presentation introducing your recent work, highlighting your own contribution, what problems did you solve, what idea did you propose, and what performance did you achieve.
